Registration opens: October 6th, 2020
Registration closes: October 12th, 2020
The first lesson is posted on October 12th, 2020. The workshop is 60 days long. The last day of the workshop is December 11th, 2020. If you're interested in joining, be sure to sign up for the Tell Me More list. We’ll send you an email to let you know when the next interactive session is about to begin.
The workshop is 60 days long. During the first 14 days of the workshop, we release a new lesson on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays–which is five lessons per week. We intentionally don't release lessons on the weekend so you can use the time to engage with the learning. After the lessons are released over the first few weeks, the workshop stays open for almost two more months so you can work at your own pace.
Every lesson comes with a set of questions that challenge you to explore how the lesson applies to your own work, and a call-to-action: to share your answers and insights on the discussion board.
That's the secret. Hundreds of people sharing their work, generously, repeatedly, with confidence.
The workshop revolves around your sharing, your commenting and your insights. Our 24/7 discussion board is a hotbed of connection and wisdom.
It's called a workshop because this is where the real work happens. You'll soon discover just how much you have in common with others on this journey, even if they live in a different country, serve a different audience and have access to different resources. This diversity is hard to find anywhere else.
During the first 14 days of the workshop, we release a new lesson on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There is new content being contributed every minute or two throughout the day for the entire workshop by other students posting their work and sharing feedback. There is always something new to engage with and respond to each time you login to the workshop. The typical active workshop participant gives and gets 500 pieces of useful feedback every month.
This Akimbo workshop runs on a customized version of Discourse, a platform that supports group discussions and one-on-one conversation.
The workshop is organized into lessons, with new ones being added regularly. Each lesson features a video from Seth and a prompt. But the real magic happens after you’ve watched the short video.
In each category, everyone will be able to create more specific topics of discussion, and to respond to the posts of others.
Our discussion boards are is open around the clock and you can engage anywhere in the world, as long as you’ve got a computer and a keyboard. You’ll be able to have conversations within the workshop community with peers from all over the world, from different industries and with different backgrounds.
It's ok if you're in between jobs or still sketching out your plans. And we certainly don't want anyone to break any Non-Disclosure Agreements.
The discussions are a mix of what you’re noticing in the world and how you can apply the lessons to your immediate work. We’ve found these kinds of discussion help to solidify the concepts and make them more memorable.
If you're unable to discuss specifics of your current project, you can mentally outline an imaginary one that is a reasonably possible option in your future (if you're in between jobs), or one that has parallels to your current organization (if you're under an NDA). This still enables you to takeaway the core concepts and ideas in the workshop.
It might feel uncomfortable at first, but definitely engage with others in the discussion boards. In other workshops we’ve hosted, we’ve noticed something extraordinary: The people who got the most out of it spent the majority of their time helping others with their work. It turns out that teaching others is even more productive than learning.
The rest of our workshops run on a platform similar to this one, but each focuses on a different change, a different sort of cohort, a different way to make a change in the world.
What they all have in common is that they work. We will help you level up, find the others and find new and better ways to make an impact with your work.
Seth has six top-rated courses on Udemy, each of which has been taken by thousands of people. There are reasonably priced courses on Leadership, Freelancing, Bootstrapping, Modern Marketing, Presentations and Value Creation. We know that the peer to peer engagement and day by day approach we take in our Akimbo workshops is the most effective way to learn, but you might find that the low cost of entry to the video only courses makes them worth an hour or two of your time.
The key difference is the Udemy workshops don't offer the peer to peer discussion boards. And, that's the magic of what Akimbo workshops offer.
Accreditation makes sense for a certain kind of institution delivering a certain kind of education. But we're not willing to build a test-and-measure culture, not willing to embrace an ancient-yet-standard curriculum, and mostly, we're not willing to distrust our students.
We'll be delighted to offer you a certificate of completion when the workshop is successfully completed, and even better, we encourage you to find a cohort in the workshop who will personally vouch for your contributions.
The workshop costs $295.
We're charging more than other online courses for a simple reason: We want committed students. No one in the workshop is browsing around or hoping for a quick hit. You'll be surrounded by other people willing to do the work and contribute along the way.
Show Your Work Money Back Guarantee: Our workshops are incredibly effective. Check out what our alumni have to say. Still, just in case you’re hesitating, consider our 100% guarantee for this workshop: If you find that it hasn't met your expectations, simply drop us a note after you've participated through all the lessons in the workshop and we’ll refund your entire tuition. We've found that when our students contribute to the workshop, they get back far more than they put into it. Sometimes life gets in the way. If you need to withdraw from the workshop before you complete it, we're happy to defer you to a future session at no cost. Just ask. To be fair to all, we don't offer refunds for non-participation.

Yes. We love to see groups enroll! Our standard price is $295, but if you enroll a group of three or more we offer a significant discount. Drop us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get you sorted out.
We're delighted to say no. And no grades, either. We feel really strongly that a test-and-measure culture is ruining education. More on this here.
Every attendee receives a customized certificate as a PDF, suitable for printing and framing.
The workshop will be active until December 11th, 2020. Enrolled students can continue to use it at no cost until this date. After December 11th, 2020, the workshop closes. We'll also provide guidance on maintaining connections with other participants after it’s over in our alumni community called ForwardLink.
The rules of our discussion board are:
With that said, please use your best judgment. If it's not something you can happily post online, best to disguise the details before you post it here.
Definitely not. And the good news is that you don't need him to. The workshop is designed to give you a compass and a template, not a map. The map, the details of your particular situation… that's all up to you. We hope the workshop will help empower your decisions along the way.
There isn't. We're hoping that if you find it useful, you'll happily spread the word to your friends and colleagues.
Yes, you can have one too.
None. This workshop doesn’t require prerequisites or prior knowledge. Bring your curiosity and generosity and that’s more than enough.
